Who We Are – Our Big Story

We didn’t create Generation BIG. We just named it.

It started with conversations among the three of us — Jeffrey Smith, a financial planner who has spent more than 20 years connecting his clients’ finances with their dreams; Tom Ruwitch, a marketing consultant, writer and entrepreneur who advises individuals and businesses on how to achieve with purpose; and Mark Patterson, a branding and product development consultant who offers ideas and inspiration to help individuals and businesses achieve sustainable success.

We saw a rising tide of people who were changing the world — people with vision, people with drive, people with 21st-century ideas, people with heart, people with meaningful dreams, people dedicated to action. We were crossing paths with these people every day. They were the people we most enjoyed working with. And when we helped them, we were doing the work we found most gratifying. We were helping people join this rising tide, helping them put dreams into action. We agreed that the three of us — in partnership with others — would dedicate ourselves to connect with as many of these bold, innovative, and generous people as we could find and help them on their journeys.

The idea was born. The name followed: Generation BIG – The Rising Tide of Dreams to Action.

Generation BIG is not a demographic. We don’t define BIG by age or location or income level. BIG is a mindset. It’s a way of being. It’s a dream. It’s a journey in pursuit of that dream.

For individuals, our commitment is to help you put dreams into action, to help you on your BIG journey. We offer inspiration, guidance, and connections to help you.

For non-profit organizations, our commitment is to help you identify, connect, and engage with BIG people so you can help each other achieve BIG things.
